Error logging on to QC 11/ALM from Excel
I am trying to access QC11 from Excel 2007. I have installed the HP ALM Client Registration to my client machine. The problem I am encountering is that right when excel tries to connect to the server, at the method initConnectionEx. I get the error message that the server is not available.
Here is the code I am using:

Connect to Quality Center
Set tdc = New TDAPIOLELib.TDConnection
URL = URLBox.Text
If tdc.Connected Then
Output.Text = Output.Text & "Able to connect to QC host. Checking user." & vbCrLf
Output.Text = Output.Text & "URL not valid. Please verify address"
tdc.Login Username.Text, Password.Text
If tdc.LoggedIn Then
Output.Text = Output.Text & "User successfully logged to QC. Verifying project." & vbCrLf
Output.Text = Output.Text & "Unable to log on. Please validate user and password"
I can access the URL value from IE. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In case anyone runs into a similar issue, here is what I did to resolve it: depending on your URL, you may not need to enter the port number. I was assuming a port number was always required.
