Anyone using Oracle 11.0.2 with Quality Center 10?
I am wondering if anyone is running Quality Center 10 on a version of Oracle 10g or 11g that is higher than the HP supported version. I would like to upgrade to Oracle 10.2.0.5 or 220.127.116.11 but HP only supports 10.2.0.4 and 18.104.22.168.
Is anyone running a large system (75= concurrent users) with 10.2.0.5 or 22.214.171.124? Have you run into any issues with these version? What Quality Center patch level are you running?

We just applied Oracle 126.96.36.199.
There is a problem. If your have schema names that are 30 characters long you 'might' not be able to post bugs (Failed to Post Bug messages). 30 character is the max that QC creates it's schema names, but it appears the Oracle bug now limits it to 29 characters.
The weird part is that not 'all' projects have this problem. Not sure why, but those that do are fixed by copying them to a project with a shorter name. I think it has to do with the CTXAPP package for full text searching.
The simple fix is to copy the project to a name that is less than 30 characters. Remember that a schema name is the domain name and underscore then the project name then _db. (Ex. domain_myproject_db ) So make sure the total length is no more than 29 characters.
According to my DBA, Oracle has a fix for this. It is listed as BUG 11822454 for Oracle. We are working on testing this and I will report back if it works.
