I have a project that run TC from Testlab with QTP.
When the TC is complete, I got all information I need from QC.
Description, name of TC ect... .
But if it fail I have to go from Testlab to Testplan and open the QTP script to see the entire TC scriptet. The short view I got in QC as preview is not stable and to short.
Has anyone an idea how to get the code of TC, that is stored as QTP script(not the vbs of library) shown at the end, or better at the beginning of execution report.
I got a solution by using the code of QTP and store it in QC description of the TC. Some replaces with the HTML to get plain text and then execute it row by row.
Then I can store the code as a report event to show in the beginning of the result anywhere. A pefect solution to me.
So the Script I use in QTP has one line for all TC with one call to the executing function . And the main code is in the description in the Testplan. For changes I need no more to open the QTO-script from QC. Just editing the description or paste the code from any textual template.
