Changing Status of a test / Tester field
we recently upgraded from QC 10 to 11 and noticed that while viewing a test set in the test lab via Execution Grid, that updating the status of a test there (without "Running" it) does not automatically populate the tester field. Since we pass many tests this way, and since we like to refer to graphs that display data by tester, this is causing us to manually set the tester field each time we change the status of a test. QC 10 used to fill in the tester field for us when changing status in this manner. Does anyone know if i can achieve this functionality with a setting change, or any other manner?
thanks--any responses are much appreciated.
Re: Changing Status of a test / Tester field
hello. i found out how to do this manually through Workflow. Not sure if the person prior to me set this up for us on QC 9.x and above, or if it was default behavior in QC until 11. Either way, i made it so the tester field is filled in with the current tester anytime status in changed on a test in the test lab to anything except No Run with the following code:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre> Sub TestSetTests_FieldChange(FieldName)
On Error Resume Next
If FieldName = "TC_STATUS" then
if TestSetTest_Fields.Field("TC_STATUS").Value <> "No Run" then
TestSetTest_Fields.Field("TC_ACTUAL_TESTER").Value = User.UserName
On Error GoTo 0
End Sub </pre><hr />
