Quality Center / QTP Cross-Project Script Linking
Is it possible to link to an automated test case that is in one project from a different project?
I assume that if this is possible it will require a Premier license?
Also, if this is possible, is there a way to access older versions of a linked-to script (i.e. so if a test needs to be re-run at some point in the future it can be run using the script version that is present today)?
Thanks for the help!
Re: Quality Center / QTP Cross-Project Script Linking
As ES told you on the other forum, when you are connected to Project A, you cannot run a test stored in project B, even with a Premier license.
If you want to "share" tests, you need to define which project is the test repository, define a baseline on that project which includes the shared tests, import that baseline in the other projects. The import process actually copies the test from one project to another. The differences with a cut'n paste are that the links between tests and requirements are retained by the copy and that you can easily update the baseline in the repository project and then update the tests in the other projects (and you can easily see what has changed between two baselines).
