What to do to re-install QC?
I am new to QC admin activities, hence looking for some guidance here. Our test server due to some unknown reasons has been not functioning. We are not able to bring the URL in browser on none of the users desktop. Worked with HP support and went thru whatever was instructed, but same result. Now they suggested to re-install QC. Below I am listing my questions
- Does re-install retain customized settings of current QC instance?
- Do I need to do any backup activities on QC test server?
FYI.....I am not able either login as site admin or bring client URL on any desktop. In other words no way to get into QC thru UI. Hence need for re-install.
BTW does anyone else had any situation where all of a sudden not able to QC either thru client or not as site admin.

What kind of errors are you getting when you try to load the QC client - either QC bin or SA bin? If I understand, you cannot get to the general access login page or the SA login page.
Can you clarify what you mean by "retain customized settings of the current QC instance"? Are you talking about project customizations, or Site Admin customizations?
Finally, I assume you have access to the server or VM environment where QC is installed?
If you can answer these questions it'll help the community provide a solution.
