    Need Help With Dashboard

    Hello,

I need help to create a query that will pull all the information about a particular Test Set. What I need is to create a report of of what step for each test case a test instance is on, and also pull a history of other test instances to see how far they got (if there are more than one instance in a test case in Test Lab.

I am not real familair with Dashboard in QC 10. However, I see the Query Builder gives a list of tables, but it does not show whta are the primary keys and what the entity relationships are.

Anyway, I hope someone here can help me get started.

    Re: Need Help With Dashboard

I tried the following so far...

Found the query that essentialy gives the execution grid view from test lab

    SELECT TESTCYCL.TC_TEST_ID /*Test Instance.Test*/
    FROM TESTCYCL /*Test Instance*/
    where TESTCYCL.TC_CYCLE_ID /*Test Instance.TestSet*/ = 2462

    This gives 10 rows.

I then try to feed this into the Test Step table:

    SELECT *
    FROM STEP /*Test Step*/
    where STEP.ST_TEST_ID /*Test Step.Source Test*/ > (SELECT TESTCYCL.TC_TEST_ID /*Test Instance.Test*/
    FROM TESTCYCL /*Test Instance*/
    where TESTCYCL.TC_CYCLE_ID /*Test Instance.TestSet*/ = 2462)

However, I am getting a SQL error

Log in to a QC project.
    Click on HELP
    Select 'Documentation Library'
Scroll down to "API References" and grab 'HP Quality Center Database Reference'

    or, go here:

    Re: Need Help With Dashboard

Looks like you have a typo in the SQL. Use the "IN" operator instead of ">" to avoid the error:

    SELECT *
    FROM STEP /*Test Step*/
    where STEP.ST_TEST_ID /*Test Step.Source Test*/ IN (SELECT TESTCYCL.TC_TEST_ID /*Test Instance.Test*/
    FROM TESTCYCL /*Test Instance*/
    where TESTCYCL.TC_CYCLE_ID /*Test Instance.TestSet*/ = 2462)
I use HP QC reports from www.rbreporting.com
