Org in QC for sw project w/multiple releases
We have a software project in a QC project. The software project will have overlapping releases. So, right now, Release 1 is in mid-cycle (with several weeks yet until actual customer release) and has requirements, test plan, test lab, test runs and defects in QC. We would like to create some structure for Release 2, as that effort has started. We see headaches whether we put create a separate QC project for Release 2, or put Release 2 in the same QC project. We would prefer to do the latter. Problems we see if we do that is if we copy requirements to a Release 2 folder, all the links to test plan objects will be lost (and same with copying test plan, test lab and maybe defect objects). We're interested how other companies manage this. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
