QC Client Installs when machine locked down
Just wondering if anyone has had experience rolling out the QC client components and add-ins to desktops. The reason I ask is the users do not have admin access to there desktops where they need to run QC and cannot download active-x components via the browser. we will be using QC 11 in this instance but it is probably the same for all versions.
Any information on how you did it would be appreciated
Re: QC Client Installs when machine locked down
You need not have to provide admin rights to your users. All they need is as below.
* Full read and write permissions to the Quality Center cache folder
- The default folder is usually C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mercury Interactive
*Full read and write permissions to the QuickTest Add-in for Quality Center installation folder(If they use QTP)
-Its C:\Program Files\HP
They might also need to change the security settings for downloading the activex. Then the users can do it by themselves.
You could install it in all machines using tools like PsExec. But still they would need Read & Write permissions to the above folders.
