Test created with Excel macro has access error
We use the MS Excel Macro add-in to create new tests. Our tests are required to have manual steps even if they are automated. To this end I tried to import a test using Type QUICKTEST_TEST. The test is created without issue except for the Test Script. When click the Test Script tab, the error " Cannot display test. Make sure the test exists in the database" displays. When manually creating this type of test, a shell script is created with only 1 comment line. This is all I need.
What is missing? Is there a solution or will we need to make a custom macro? Or does alm 11 work?
Re: Test created with Excel macro has access error
Solved the problem. The macro can not use QUICKTEST Type on a New test. But it can create a manual test which thencan have Generate Script run. My problem was that I didnt know there was a bug preventing Generate Script from working. HP does have a QC patch 20 now to fix this. Will be in the next quarterly patch.
Would have been nice to have the macro trigger the test script shell though.
