    Upgrading from 9.2 to 10.0

    Hi

I have 2 questions in regard to upgrading QC from 9.2 to 10.0.

    1:

Does it have any impact that our QC install path is changed from

    D:\serverfiles\mercury\Quality Center\repository\QC\it_og_tele_2\POLSAG (QC 9.2)

    to this path:

    D:\serverfiles\HP\Quality Center\repository\QC\it_og_tele_2\POLSAG (QC 10.0)

    2:

Is it possible to copy the folder with the repository files from QC 9.2 to QC 10.0? And where should it be located in the file system?

Re: Upgrading from 9.2 to 10.0

Yes it does. But it is an easy fix... and I have a recommendation.

Do not store your repository under the same location as your QC installation. As you can see HP has changed from the default of mercury to HP now.

It is better to store your Repository as the first level folder under your drive..
    ex.. D:\Repository

As far as any update is concerned you need to check your database schema qcsiteadmin_db and look at the PROJECTS table. It has a column that refers to the repository path. Just make sure this matches where you have your repository. If you have a 'newer' install this column probably has a variable it uses for the path.. but if you have an old install it might have a 'real' path.

Also scan the other tables in the qcsiteadmin_db schema... I don't remember off hand which one holds the column with the variable, but it is in one of the tables.

Just remember that the qcsiteadmin_db schema is the KEY to all the settins for QC. The only other place that might hold info about the path is the DBID.XML file located in the repository directory for each project. This file is used when you import a project.
