I'm trying to setup a system test that reboots the remote pc. The test is setup and starts etc my issue is with the remote agent Add In
When I go to the configuration to input my username, password and domain the username and domain field are read only and I cannot activate them.
Hi Emma, I've not used the system test remote agent at all, but I manage to shutdown and startup my machines using a combination of tools:
1. Shutdown via scheduled task
2. The shutdown script includes a registry update to overwrite group policy password setting
3. Wakeup via BIOS trigger or Wake-On-LAN[/list]
My shutdown script checks to see if any of our BPT scripts are running, and if they aren't it updates the username/password/legal notice/AutoAdminLogon values (group policy resets these every day.. I have to set them back immediately prior to shutdown).
The shutdown script is triggered by a windows Scheduled task, but there's no reason you couldn't trigger it via PSExec, followed by Wake-On-Lan to bring the machine back up.
This works on XP and Vista.. haven't tried it on Win7.
By default some of those registry keys did not exist (i.e DefaultDomainName and DefaultPassword) so I had to create those keys first - you can probably write the script to create them but I didn't see the need.
