No Cost from HP... if you have maintenance you get the software.
As far as other costs... well it took 55 hours, plus probably a couple hundred in prep time (cleaning out old projects, writing detailed installation doc, etc).
Also the upgrade adds 100 tables to each project (version 9.2 vs 10.0). So you will be using alot more disk space and resources on your database server.
In our instance performance is much worse on QC10 than 9.2. We are seeing many 'random' type errors. For example our defect id's are jumping by 100 periodically for no reason. Hp is looking in to this. We are seeing login times take over 2 minutes even when nobody is on the system.
We are on Patch 17 (latest). I hope they come up with a patch 18 soon [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
you can have zero downtime for your upgarde , if you add work with failover server .
1) bbackup and restore the admin db ,rename with differname
2) upgarde all the project one by one in failover serevr
3) finally pointing the admin db to main server once you upgrade complete on failover
