I would like to know whether can we use QC OTA to upload test results from excel
I believe you can do it, there is an example of adding run to a test set in the QC OTA documentation. Refer the information on RunFactory and Run object in the documentation.
The reason I am saying "I believe" is i have not tried it, will keep you posted if I have anything working.
Hope this info helps.
What kind of test results?
Do you have test cases already in Test Lab and want to run them as per the excel file..??

this is no problem with QC API. Do you want to do this by a workflowscript, or with an external script?
Thanks for your response.
Yes, test cases and results(PASS/Fail,actual result) are being maintained in Excel. Separate Test Case Ids are maintained for reference.
Using QC Excel Addin i have uploaded test cases in QC. As highlighted by Shashi, i found there is a way by using QC OTA.
I would like to know whether is it legal to do this as QC OTA is not counted for license.
please assist me
I guess it should be legal, coz the excel add-in we usually use to export excel data to QC is a code that uses QC OTA to load data into QC.
All - Correct me if I am missing anything.
I am not aware of any license violation issues when using OTA, it seems to be perfectly legal.
Use OTA to the maximum, will reduce lot of rework and save loads of time
OTA is one of the feature of QC, so there is no license violation issue of using OTA.
By using OTA we can do many tools ...
Please correct me if a I am wrong …
Thanks a lot for sharing your views.
