I have been trying for days to install QC on my machine, but after the installation completes and the configuration wizard starts, it gives me an error. I am beside myself, currently taking classes but now so behind because of my inability to complete installation.
I would appreciate it if anyone can be of help.
This is the error that I am getting!
Access to path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Quality Center Starter Edition\QC Starter\conf' is denied
Do you have to go with QC 10? QC 11 should be out now (QTP certainly is) maybe you'd be better off with 11? HP are calling their suite of applications ALM now if you go looking.
That said I think our tool guys who have us still on QC 9.2 are only going to go as far as 10 when they upgrade. We have about 600 concurrent users at peak times so I think they'll not take the risk with something so new on the market.
On top of what Blue Motorcycle said, you will need to do a reboot on the local system to ensure all dll's have been installed. This is the case on Windows Vista and Win7. There after you will no longer be required to run IE via admin mode. Thanks.
