Merge two QC10 Starter edition into one Enterprise

    Hello out there,

My organization is looking to upgrade from Quality Center 10.00 Starter Edition to Enterprise Edition. My knowledge in QC admin is limited, but I hear that a simple upgrade only requires a license file update. The issue we face is that we will have projects on two distinct instances of QC starter. I was looking for ideas on the best approach to this merge/upgrade procedure. Hopefully this is an easier task than I am anticipating. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Are you saying that you have two distinctly separate Quality Center servers?

Hmmm. I have not heard of that type of configuration before so I can't help any further but good luck.

Re: Merge two QC10 Starter edition into one Enterprise

    Thanks.

Just to clarify in a different context, we have startState:
    Domain/ProjectA on QC10 Starter Edition Server1
    Domain/ProjectB on QC10 Starter Edition Server2

We want to get to endState:
    Domain/ProjectA & Domain/ProjectB on QC10 Enterprise Edition Server1

    Essentially, we need to:
Install Enterprise over Starter on Server1 (Db on Server1 is converted to SQL Server and Domain/ProjectA is retained?)
Somehow copy or import Domain/ProjectB to Server1

I am just looking for proper instructions on how to get from startState to endState so we can measure the effort involved.

    Regards.

I'm not quite sure, but can you export a qc project in starter edition. If so export it on server b and import it on server a.

It's more like u r running two instances of QC and want to bring everything under one instance , more like a consolidation, if i am not wrong.

Yes, consolidation is another way of putting it.

Would it be as simple as an export/import?
