Unable to update field value in defect module

    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone of you ever encounter this while customising the defect module using scripts.

I am trying to update a customized field in v9.2 defect module using the follwoing scripts in Bug_FieldChange.

However, the debug message that I placed immediately after the update statement showed me that the field value is not getting updated at all.

    If Bug_Fields.Field("BG_USER_03").Value = "Duplicate" Then
    msgbox "Duplicate Y"
    Bug_Fields.Field("BG_USER_33").IsReadOnly = False
    Bug_Fields.Field("BG_USER_33").Value = "Y"
    msgbox Bug_Fields("BG_USER_33").Value
    End If

BG_USER_33 field value remain as N and I have ran out of idea what could cause this problem as I never have problem updating other fields using the same technique.

Re: Unable to update field value in defect module

I manage to resolved the issue. It turns out the field is only granted read-only access for the user group that I login with.

    Hi there!

How did you find out that the field was read-only for the user group and how did you change it to not be read-only?

    Many thanks

The privileges should be there in the user settings, which the admin may set up.

If the error is not thrown during updates, then may be some error suppressing code would have been used.
    Cheers
    Jonty..
