    Excel Reports for Requirements and Traces

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use QC to generate an Excel report listing all project requirements of a given type and all requirements which back trace to them. I know you can do traceability reports in DocGen, but DocGen doesn't provide a good way of creating this report in a tabular format.

    Has anyone worked out the SQL for this already and might be willing to share?

    thanks,

    -Dennis

    Re: Excel Reports for Requirements and Traces

    Hi Dennis,

    It is possible to use SQL to export the trace and test results to Excel using the Excel Report Generator.

    Below is the SQL that I wrote to extract the test cases found in the test set folder that I wish to extract and their corresponding requirements that linked to the test cases. Hoe it helps.

    select
    --r.rq_req_id as "Req ID",
    r.rq_user_03 as "DOORS ID",
    CYCL_FOLD.CF_FATHER_ID as "Test Set Parent Folder",
    --CYCLE.CY_CYCLE_ID,
    CYCL_FOLD.CF_ITEM_NAME AS "Test Set Folder",
    CYCLE.CY_CYCLE AS "Test Set",
    t.TS_TEST_ID as "Test Case ID",
    t.TS_NAME as "Test Name",
    TS.TC_STATUS as "Results"
    from
    CYCL_FOLD, cycle,
    test t, testCycl TS,
    req R,
    req_cover rc
    where
    (r.RQ_USER_06 <> 'Obsolete' or r.RQ_USER_06 <> 'Deferred')
    and r.RQ_REQ_ID = rc.RC_REQ_ID
    and rc.RC_ENTITY_ID = t.ts_test_id
    and
    ((CYCL_FOLD.CF_FATHER_ID=143 or CYCL_FOLD.CF_FATHER_ID=144) or
    (CYCL_FOLD.CF_ITEM_ID=143 or CYCL_FOLD.CF_ITEM_ID=144 or CYCL_FOLD.CF_ITEM_ID=504))
    and
    ((CYCL_FOLD.CF_ITEM_ID=CYCLE.CY_FOLDER_ID) or (CYCL_FOLD.CF_FATHER_ID=CYCLE.CY_FOLDER_ID))
    and
    (TS.TC_STATUS='Failed' or TS.TC_STATUS='Passed')and
    TS.TC_TEST_ID = T.TS_TEST_ID and
    CYCLE.CY_CYCLE_ID=TS.TC_CYCLE_ID
    order by
    r.rq_user_03
