Execution time data collection
Our project has a need to record different pieces of information during test execution as part of actual result. How do I flag these "entities" to be filled by tester mandatorily during execution? Adding UDAs that apply for all the tests is not an option as the entities are varied and differ from test case to test case. Adding a test execution comment field doesn't help as testers might forget to add all required information. Preferably, I would like to start in the test plan module for a particular test case and add the entities to be recorded and these should be marked as mandatory in the test lab module. Can anyone please help?
Many thanks in advance!
Re: Execution time data collection
If the requirements vary from test to test I don't think you are going to find a way to force the recording of the information. I think the best you'll be able to do is ensure that as part of your expected result you state the information that needs to be recorded and trust the users to actually record it in the actual result. You could do this on a step by step basis or have an additional step for each test case depending on your needs.
