    How to email all QC users

    Is there a way to e-mail <u>all</u> Quality Center users at once for all projects?

    Re: How to email all QC users

    I found the code below

    'This script will list user name, full name and email address for all users to a comma separated file c:\emails.csv
    Set client = CreateObject("SACLIENT80MP.SAapi")
    server = InputBox("QC URL")
    saUser = InputBox(" Site Admin user ID")
    saPassword = InputBox("Password")
    client.login server, saUser, saPassword
    response = client.GetAllUsers()
    Set xmldoc = CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
    xmldoc.loadXML response
    Set lst = xmldoc.getElementsByTagName("USER_NAME")
    Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set f = fso.OpenTextFile("c:\emails.csv", 2, True)
    For i = 0 to lst.length - 1
    Set node = lst.item(i)
    result = client.GetUser(node.text)
    xmldoc.loadXML result
    Set root = xmldoc.documentElement
    Set userId = root.SelectSingleNode("TDXItem/USER_NAME")
    Set fullName = root.SelectSingleNode("TDXItem/FULL_NAME")
    Set email = root.SelectSingleNode("TDXItem/EMAIL")
    f.WriteLine userId.text &amp; "," &amp; fullName.text &amp; "," &amp; email.text
    Set root = Nothing
    Set userId = Nothing
    Set fullName = Nothing
    Set email = Nothing
    Next
    f.Close
    Set client = Nothing
    Set xmldoc = Nothing
    Set lst = Nothing
    Set fso = Nothing
    Set f = Nothing
    MsgBox "Finished!"

    But when I run the script I keep getting a Session authenticity broken error.

    Re: How to email all QC users

    A work-around is to use the Export to File option in Site Users (Site Administration). Select All and export, open the saved list in Excel, copy and past the column of user names to the To: field in MS Outlook and do a Check Names. If your QC User Names resemble your Outlook Names it will resolve real users and allow you to email them from there.
    Works for us because our QC naming is "first letter, last name" and Outlook resolves that to an Outlook user in the Outlook Global Address book.
    Regards.

    Unfortunately this is a work-around I can not use since we do not use MS Outlook. But thank you very much for your suggestion though.

    Re: How to email all QC users

    We query the QC database with a a query like this to get a mailing list.
    This query restricts you to users in a given project.

    select p.PROJECT_NAME, p.DOMAIN_NAME , u.USER_NAME,u.EMAIL, u.FULL_NAME
    from qcsiteadmin_db.USERS_PROJECTS up, qcsiteadmin_db.projects p, qcsiteadmin_db.USERS u
    where
    p.project_name ='ImprovementProgram'
    and u.USER_ID = up.USER_ID
    and p.PROJECT_ID = up.PROJECT_ID

    Is the QC URL you are supplying in the correct form?: http://&lt;servernameort&gt;/SABIN
