Report generator and Defect layover status
Hi all, my current situation is like this. Now I export all incidents to excel in order to create the pivort tables I would like. This is due to the fact that I do not know how to use quality center to the full extend.
I WOULD LIKE to be able to generate a report that states the number of defects and the time each defect have spend to go from one status to another. E.g from status NEW to OPEN and from OPEN to CORRECTED and so on.
CAN ANYONE HELP HERE ?
I would also like to be able to know how to measure the defect turnaround time from very beginng to the end. This means from NEW to CLOSED.
I hope some of you can help me out here and look forward to your replies.
All the best
Re: Report generator and Defect layover status
IMHO, it will not be easy to get what you want just by using SQL statements.
I would recommend to extract the history data into an Excel sheet and write some Excel macros to build the report you are looking for.
The history data is stored in the AUDIT_LOG and AUDIT_PROPERTIES tables. You are looking for history records where AUDIT_LOG.AU_ENTITY_TYPE = 'BUG', AUDIT_LOG.AU_ACTION_ID = AUDIT_PROPERTIES.AP_ACTION_ID, AUDIT_PROPERTIES.AP_FIELD_NAME = 'BG_STATUS'. You get the defect ID in AUDIT_LOG.AU_ENTITY_ID, the old status in AUDIT_PROPERTIES.AP_OLD_VALUE, the new status in AUDIT_PROPERTIES.AP_NEW_VALUE and the time of change in AUDIT_LOG.AU_TIME.
Once you have these values in an Excel sheet, you can write a macro to build the reports.
If you need more help, we'll need to know the ordered list of bug status values for your project(s).
