Any way to set Permissions on Defect List Screen?

I have noticed that when setting group access levels that they are not always enforced when navigating via the QC listing screen.

Can anyone tell me the access level needed to set to remove a user's ability to Right click and Copy a CR and paste? Had a user created 500+ dupe CRs performing this action thinking they were doing something else. I would like to remove that ability.

    Thanks!

Please define "QC listing screen" and "CR". Your request would be more understandable if you use the terminology that HP uses in its guides (module, grid, defect, and so on).

Re: Any way to set Permissions on Defect List Screen?

The "defect copy" and defect paste" actions are not listed in the ACTIONS table. Thus, you cannot set permissions for these actions in the Project Customization module.

You'll have to resort to the workflow.

First, determine the name of the action for copying and/or pasting a defect. This can be displayed by DebugView (a free MS tool) or by a "MsgBox ActionName" statement in the ActionCanExecute workflow function.

Then, after you removed the "MsgBox ActionName", you disable these actions with something like :
    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
    If Not User.IsInGroup ("TDAdmin") Then
    Actions.Action("&lt;the action name&gt;").Enabled = False
    End If
    </pre><hr />

As the copy and paste operations are available as soon as the user enters the Defect module, you can safely place that piece of code in the EnterModule workflow subroutine (you know that you enter the Defects module in the EnterModule sub because ActiveModule = "Defects").
