QC StarterEd- Cannot login to client after install
I have installed Quality Center Starter Edition and installed it with JBoss Application server and JBoss Web server (which both were included in the QC installation and installed automatically).
I have managed to login to QC Site Admin and create a user and assigned the user to the QualityCenter_Demo project. But when trying to login to the project via the client I get the following error message:
Server has been disconnected while performing GetProjectCustomizationData action.
When running the QC Checker I get the a warning for the JBoss Application Server server.log that says:
The following error message was found: 2009-01-27 13:24:40,392 DEBUG [ORG.JBOSS.SYSTEM.SERVICECONFIGURATOR] SUPPRESSTRANSFORMATIONERRORS SET TO TRUE IN JBOSS.AOP:SERVICE=ASPECTMANAGER
I assume that the login problem is related to the QC checker warning, i.e. that it is JBoss Application server related. Worth mentioning is that a collegue of mine also got the same error messages when login to the client after she installed QC Starter Edition, so it seems like the problem isn't only related to my installation.
Have any of you experienced or heard about this error or do you have any suggestion on what I can try to do in order to be able to login to the QC client?
Re: QC StarterEd- Cannot login to client after install
Through help on the HP discussion forum I have got a little closer to solve my GetProjectCustomizationData error:
My HP support forum thread on this subject
It seems like it is a known issue where QC at client login are creating a list of to many (15) levels of nesting/depth of data from the ALL_LISTS table.
The given solutions is:
1. Reorganize the list items so that a hierarchy of depth 15 is never created.
2. You can allocate more memory for the Java process using the -Xmx option of the JVM.
Unfortunately I'm new to both QC and JVM so I don't know how to proceed with the solutions. Have any of you tried to apply any similar solutions before?
