Parameterize VAPI-XP test
How do I parameterize a VAPI-XP test through QC?
Re: Parameterize VAPI-XP test
When I put parameters in my VAPI-XP tests, I add them in via the Design Steps tab of that test in Test Plan. If you add a step in Design Steps, a window should pop up with a bunch of fields for you to edit. If you click the one labeled Description, the button on the top of that window that looks like this: <P+> should turn green. If you click that you can enter the name of a parameter that you'd like to use. Give it a name. Since I used Python for my scripts, I called the parameter in my code something like this:
myParameter = CurrentTest.Params.ParamValue('parameterName')
Where it says 'parameterName', enter the name you gave it when you pressed the <P+> button.
You can give it a value before running the test by adding the test to a test set in Test Lab and right clicking the test instance and pressing Test Instance Properties. Then on the left of the window that pops up click Configuration and proceed to enter values for your parameters.
I hope this helps since I'm sure everyone's application of QC is different. It took me forever to figure out how to do this. Good luck!
