Restoring Project from 8.2 to 9.0
I have managed to successfully restore a db project from 8.2 to 9.0 in SQL 2000 server. I have restarted the server as well, but i cant see the project in the QC admin site for me to upgrade it. Am i missing a step?
Re: Restoring Project from 8.2 to 9.0
you need a dbid.xml file on the application side.
I have seen others:
create a new project in 9.0 (this creates the dbid.xml)
take a datadump from the 8.2 project and import into the 9.0 project. (This is the safe way)
Others have copied an exsisting dbid.xml file (from another project) and edited it to match the User (project) in the database. Then you restore using the edited dbid.xml file. Once QC can see it you can upgrade.
Others use the migration tool (but that only works for TD 7.6 or TD 8.0
Check out the HP QC Forums there are a number of users that have documented their experience
