Export Test Plans in MSAccess to QC?

Does anyone know/tried a way to export test plans written in Access directly to Quality Center? I know that if you save your Access test plan to Excel then use the Excel Add-in to export to QC. But, I wanting to know if there is way to do the export directly to QC without having to step through Excel first.

That is a unique way of using MS Access. You could use a linked Excel table in Access (instead of a Access table). Then you wouldn't have to export them.

Or you could do a macro in Access to query the database and save the query directly into an Excell table.

Re: Export Test Plans in MSAccess to QC?

The typical way would be to write VBA code in Access to call and use the OTA commands in QC/TD. There are numerous examples of calling the OTA shell using VBA/VBScript in the Mercury manuals. Look up the information about connecting to the QC OTA engine and then using the TestFactory (if memory serves correctly) to push the data into test cases in the Test Plan module.

This way you are doing direct pushes/moves of the data.
