I have read the documentation about backing up a project and HP suggest to read an article/Document i.e. Article 3615. I visited at HP web site but did not find this. Can anybody guide me that what are the steps involved in this process.
Please refer me the exact link or document if you have.
To backup your project you will have to do the following:
1. on the Database server, take a full backup of the project database (itis usually named as <domain_namae>_<project_name>_db). You can take the help of your DB admin for this.
2. On the QC Server, under repository, go to the domain folder. Here you will find the project folder, take a backup of this as well.
QC interface does not allow you to take backups. You can create a copy of the existing project and that could serve as a backup for you. But while you create the copy, from QC interface, the original project will be deactivated. From QC end, you need to backup the respository folder
Analyst28: I've always used the QC "Export Project" method for backups. This means that my project is backed up completely in one nice *.qcp file that I can then import onto any suitable QC host server.
There's a catch: You have to store the project repository in the db to do this. QC9.2 allows you to switch back and forth between FS and DB.
Kevin: I've had projects "lock up" during export. My method to 'clear the flag' was to restart the QC service.
