I am looking to find a good name for a testing role. I ask for suggestions and Industry standards please.
Representing testing in Development Meetings. Providing a testing perspective to these meetings.(including Req review and Func review)
Involved in eliminating nasty surprises to testing, by being actively involved as early as possible in the SDLC representing testing.
Providing testing team with Knowledge of what is coming to them in the next release.
Helping Testing to be prepared by providing info on Env requirments, etc.
Help in high level planning/strategy of testing large enhancements.
In escense being a bridge between development and testing to define entry and exit criterias and eliminating nasty surprises.
Role Does not Involve
Actual execution of test plans.
I have eliminated the following names already.
Senior Test Analyst.
Senior Test Engineer.
I am looking for a more innovative name.
I am looking in the lines of
I'd probably go with something like 'Test Liaison' or 'QA Liaison'. Personally, I'd avoid the word Evangelist as IMHO the religious overtones are a bad fit for the workplace. Similary, an Advocate in this part of the world refers to someone in the legal profession, and would not be appropriate.
