Defect Prediction Models
I personally don't believe they work but has anyone come across what they feel are good defect prediction models?
Re: Defect Prediction Models
I believe they can give a general idea of the defect trends and state of a project, if the historical data used to generate those models is closely related to the current project.
For example, using defect trends from a previous iteration of the same product with the same people on the team can give you a pretty good idea of what the pattern will like for the current iteration.
But prediction models are just that - predictions. It's like any statistic - there is a margin of error.
