We are supporting Windows XP OS and for that purpose, I try to keep my XP test boxes in "vanilla" state. Recently, our IT department decided to use ImageX (Vista) to back up our XP boxes). Question I have, will using this new ImageX (Vista) technology defeat the idea of having a "vanilla" XP system? My concern is that using new Vista technology to backup Xp boxes will no longer make it a "vanilla" system.
Any comments? Suggestions?
Not sure to whom your question was addressed. In our case, each tester is responsible for his/her own Test PCs, and hence restoring their image when necessary. They restore often, but unless it's a slow machine, the process only takes a few minutes.
