Data Warehouse covers a multitude of sins. It can be anything from creating a warehouse, a mart, a cube, reports, dashboards.
You will need to know what the project specifically is to know what you will test. Depending on your company and your project you may get to use some data warehouse tools or you may only get to use what the end users will use.

Having done some work with data warehousing I do recommend that you get some understanding of the whole concepts, the Data Warehouse techs that I have worked with all tend to think data warehouse is "different" and does not need testing. My experience is that generally needs testing more than other applications.

i have never worked on a DW project,and now trying to find some info on testing DW.the dmreview doc given by JCTreb was good.i too searched in net but it was not very helpful.i am also looking for some tips and what exactly they r looking for a DW testing.i feel very few comp's r working on DW [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
