New guy wanting to learn!
Hello, I am completly new to the field of software testing. I have no experience what so ever. I would greatly appreciate anything anyone has to say so I can break in this field and learn all I can! As of right now I am studying for my A+. I know this sounds stupid but I want to have clear understanding of everything I am getting in to. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Re: New guy wanting to learn!
You have just displayed the primary qualification for becoming a tester: "I want to have clear understanding of everything I am getting in to".
If you are currently studying for A+ remember the focus of QA testing is not on hardware, it is the software applications. You can use A+ if you want to test technical applications, such as drivers, rather than business applications. It also gives you a good foundation in the technology, and you may want to complete that first.
You can search this forum. One place to go is the education section (training) to see what sort of training programs appeal to you. There are many different testing approaches, and you may prefer one approach over another. You should determine that before you go too far in one direction. You should also consider finding a junior tester job to see first hand what is involved. If you like it you can then start the appropriate studies to develop specific expertise.
