QA companies

What are some of the QA companies both in the US as well as famous ones in Europe and India?

Also, I see that the news at http://www.betasoft.com/news.html is very old (the latest one is from 2001). Any hint on that?

This forum is really great for newbies like me.

We need more CONTEXT! What are you referring to when you say "QA Company"?

Re: QA companies

Compuware has been around for a long time and had taken QA work seriously early on. Having spent time with some of the "old timers" I came away with a lot of respect. They had people testing many of the "famous names" in mainframe. And, it was a great comany for to work.

I see nothing here that indicates anything close to the services provided in the links at the end of this post:
http://www.compuware.com/services/default.htm

Besides other services & products, Compuware provides testing resources. Here are a few examples of QA companies to help illustrate the distinction between QA and testing or QC:

Jake, I am happy to inform you of the expanded services offered by Compuware.

No, I am not a company hack... but an impressed former employee.

Re: QA companies

You are referring to testing, q-pul. swarupa's question is about QA - at least at this point.

Re: QA companies

Just to throw gasoline on this thing... If we are talking about 'QA' companies then we need to include ones that are concerned with Processes & Methodologies (anyone who expounds a specific methodology, which might include Microsoft with MSF), Configuration Management (MKS, Serena, Rational, etc.), Requirements Management (Rational, SteelTrace, Borland, etc.), Risk Management, Project Management, etc., and the list grows ad infinitum.

So we need to narrow the scope and address it in the same context (can't believe I just spewed that rhetoric, sigh).

So... Swarupa... are you talking about service providers for QA, or just testing. Or are you talking about tool vendors for QA, or just testing. This is a very big ocean to swim in, need to pick a small cove to hang in.

Re: QA companies

I have to agree with q-pul on this one, Jake . CPWR was an early player in both QA and QC; processes did not take a backseat to testing and they were one of the first firms to have an entire line of business devoted to QA/SPI, and a separate line of business devoted to QC/testing. And both of THOSE were separate from their product/tool lines. This was in place well before CMM, although they added CMM-certified auditors to their staff when it became a focused need in the market. I believe they've moved away from that model to compete more efficiently with offshored resources, but they still deserve credit as a consulting firm that has had a long-term focus on both QA and QC.

Darrel, shouldn't you be weighing in on this one?

Re: QA companies

True Linda. I'm being more stubborn about the distinction between QA and QC.
