I want to know about Career prospect of a Software Tester compared to Software Developer.
Is a career in Software testing place an individual financially & Technically sound?
My organization depends on manual testing and has only 2/3 QA and testing Professional.
A career is what you make of it! If you have a strong desire to excel then you will excel. Never pick something as important as your life's work based on the current possible income you can make. That is both foolish and immature. Use you head and listen to your heart. What do you want to do for the rest of your life? Then when you decide, make it your career and not just a job.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
~ Winston Churchill ~
Just a thought Career prospect are important but a choice based on that may lead to advancement in a career that you hate. Give some serious thought to what you want to do and what you like to do - you will lead a much happier life being a little less successful at something you enjoy.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" --Thomas Edison
Thanks for the suggestion.I totally abide by the views of Rich W.Sir, my only goal of life is to fulfill the dreams of my Father, who always inspired me to excel in any career that I chose.
Unfortunately, he is no more in this world to see my effort & progress in Life.
That is sad, Vikas. However, you may still fulfill his dreams. Do not think hard, relax and think over all the options that you have. As Lynne, Rich, Peter are advising, look at what you like and do well in it.
If you have chosen testing as a career because you like it, stick to it. You can very well excel in a field that you like.
Thanks Rajesh, for giving motivational & encouraging suggestion. I do like Testing but I am a bit slow in doing Manual testing. I am striving hard to improve it.Let's hope that all will improve and may I get the blessings of my Father & the Almighty in my persuit for excellence.
Thanks a lot & be in touch.
