Considering career change
Hi everybody, I've recently been introduced to QA and am wondering if I what I've heard about being able to get into the field without any formal training is correct. Is this true? Also, what kind of salary can I expect to earn, I am living in the UK and have no university qualifications.
Re: Considering career change
testertobe2006 - anything is possible.
Most people get into QA without formal QA training.
When I hire new QAers, I look for either a fair amount of relevant computer experience or specific domain experience, or both.
I almost never hire QAers without at least a college degree.
Salaries tend to vary not only by country, but by area, expertise and domain.
You haven't indicated what you are doing now, nor what kind of experience you might have that has introduced you to QA.
Best of luck!
