Me having 1.5 year work experience in .Net Platform but right now my Company doesn't
Have any project in .Net so they have ask me to make choice to switch either in Mainframe, Java or in Software Testing, at the time of joining I had to signed a bond of 2 year and I have decided to switch in Software Testing is it a right decision.
I request U all plz point me to the right direction with your valuable guidance
Your kind suggestion to me will be highly appreciate able.
Normally I would say even if it is the wrong decision you can always change it but it sounds like you have signed a document (bond) that requires you to work at your company for at least 2 years. So if it turns out like this is not right for you then you have to live with it for at least 6 months.
However, like Jake I am curious - why choose software testing of Java coding?
Sudip, Do you have 6 months or 2 years to complete your bond? If it is 2 years I would suggest consulting someone who practices law in your country. In the U.S. a contract like that means very little as the company is messing with your ability to be gainfully employed in your chosen field, which is development. Many contracts are not worth the paper they are written on. In fact, here, you could sue the company for mis-representation of the position. Check it out first.
Although Rich the company can say they didn't misrepresent it as he was given a choice of 2 developments areas (MainFrame or Java), but chose to exit the field. Unless the contract locked the position into specifically .NET development, I think he has made a bed he muct lie in
This almost borders on "Endentured Servitude". In the U.S. most states have "At Will" employment laws in place that would allow him to say "I don't think so" and bail on the contract with minimal chance of reprisal (he could get sued for breach, but it most likely would be tossed out).
Don't know about India (which is where it shows in his profile), different country means different laws.
