Re: Architectural and Testing difference between Web & Client Server Applications???

    Austin_Tester

Client/Server is an architecture. Web Application is an application served over the web, which architecturally is Client server.

Not sure what the issue is.... There is a Host, UI and Comms in both cases.

For testing there is a Set of User/Business requirements and System Functions .... regardless of architecture.

Architectural and Testing difference between Web & Client Server Applications???

    Hi All,

What are the main differences between testing a Web application and Client-Server application and also the architectural difference between them?

For testing a Web Application, things to consider are:
    1. TCP/IP
    2. Internet Connection
    3. Sessions/Cookies
    4. Testing the application across different browsers
    5. Navigation and ease of use

are there any other things to consider?

For testing client server applications, what are the things that you should look for?

I tired the advance search but I didn't get any information regarding the architectural and testing differences between the web and client server application.

    Thanks for your help!!

Why is 2 tier and 3 tier or even n-tier such confusing terms ?

Often complex IT systems require many tiers to meet a performance objective or for global distribution (or many other reasons). Suggest you read up on ISO modelling and you will see the many reasons for n-tier systems.
