Best Standards To Audit Software Companies To?
My company would like to get a more formal process in place to evaluate software vendors. We've been dealing with the hardware vendors for a while and have compiled checklists and questions to evaluate a hardware vendor, but evaluation of software vendors is a bit new for us.
I'm handling the QA related questions and am looking for the best IEEE or ISO standards (or other standard orgs) from which I could draw my assessment questions from. I think ISO 9000-3 was a good one back in '97, but perhaps there's a newer standard out there? I'm not in a regulated industry, but would like to assess our software vendors to a high standard.
