Has anyone attended the conferences being advertised by the Software Quality Engineering group. Before attending, I was hoping to get some feedback on whether anyone thought they were useful, so I'd like any comments I can get about them. Thanks in advance!
The STAR conferences are generally well-regarded. I've never been to a conference that I found to be valueless. I get good ideas from every one (though some of those ideas are in the form of disagreement with the presenters, rather than agreement). I've also found that for good conferences, it's very difficult to absorb and adopt every good idea or technique or practice; moreover, some things don't sink in or find an application until later on.
You might want to emphasize the presenters and their presentations, rather than the hosts or sponsors, as determining factors for choosing one conference over another.
