Blogs and RSS for project collaboration
Is anyone using a blog for collaboration? I just started an internal one within my QA/Dev group.
The motivations were:
-I have whiteboards and sticky notes full of test results and notes scattered everywhere.
-I spend too much time saving and searching email for information
-others in my group are probably in the same situation
using a Web Log, I have a simple interface that allows us to enter information that is then published to my web server. It is archived by date and is searchable. New entries are also syndicated via an RSS feed so anyone that is interested in having posts delivered to them can do so.
Setting up the blog was ridiculously easy. The package I decided on was 'Simple PHP Blog' (I run it on Ubuntu Linux with Apache/PHP).
Is anyone else doing anything similar to improve collaboration/communication within QA or Development groups?
