I was wondering if anyone knew of a QA lab that could be "rented" out. A new release of our software could cause bugs on different graphics cards. We can't buy all possible graphics cards, but we would like to run our software prior to beta on as many configurations as possible. And we want to be the ones to run it - we ideally don't want to send out our software to other companies to test because what we are looking for is often very subtle and we are the best people to determine if something is broken.
Anyone know of such a place where we could "rent" lab equipment for a day of testing?
QA Labs (www.qalabs.com) may be able to help tho they are more in the business of renting out testers. They have offices in Boston and Vancouver.
You could try partnering up with another company that may have different graphics cards (ie a large company creating another (non-competing) type of software that is dependant on graphics cards).
Lastly, are there any universities or technical schools in your area? Maybe they have a lab you could use. We do this but we have a research scientist who has worked hard at fostering relationships with universities across North America.
One place I can recommend is iBeta, they are a lab based in Denver and have done compatability testing for games (video, sound, platform, etc.) among other things. They specialize in compatability testing.
