know of a self-contained database validation tool?
The product I'm testing adds a layer of application virtualization to the Solaris kernel. As part of my testing I need to validate that applications, such as databases, still function correctly running in our modified environment. Has anyone heard of software which will exercise database functionality?
I'm looking for something which would generate its own schema and data and then run through a set of known tests. The tests should be more in depth than just insert/update/delete - they might do "advanced" things like exercise stored procedures, triggers, re-indexing, etc. At this point I'm not too particular about which database - Oracle, DB/2, Sybase, etc. - however, the more the merrier.
Thanks for any help!

Take a look at SQLUnit. http://sqlunit.sourceforge.net/
It might be what you are looking for.
