Currently I am working on a web-base project, my testing involved cache testing. The application consist of two portions (1) administrator site (2) user site, in the user site the user will be able to search for images and maps..
If the administrator sets a flag “Use Cache=YES” then two users request two the same maps (not simultaneously) then one user will get the map from the server, and the second user will get it from the cache, however if the administrator sets the flag “Use Cache=NO” both users will get the map from the server..
My question is, how can I test that? How can I make sure the second user in the first case actually got the map from the cache not from the server?
Re: cache testing
Can you monitor file access on the harddrive? If you see a single access for the image, then you know the second user was getting a cached file.
