Anyone know anything about Modem Testing?
Specifically a tool to simulate RAS Error Codes. I'm testing a dialer client and we are finding that which RAS error code is submitted is modem specific. In otherwords, take the exact same set of steps on 2 different modems and get 2 different RAS errors reported. This means we have no reliable way of testing our applications response to various dialing errors? Anyone out there know of a tool which will allow us to send specific RAS error responses to our Dialer client?
Re: Anyone know anything about Modem Testing?
The different modems are returning different AT result codes and this is resulting in different RAS errors being returned to the dialer? Or maybe the modems drivers are coded differently?
If so does that mean you need to determine what modems / drivers you want to support, then get the spec for their particular way of returning codes (maybe they don't all support the full set of result codes or something?), then design coverage tests or do the developers need this first so they can code the support?
