Collaborative Test Tool sought
I am looking for a tool to help with collaborative testing. I wondered what the name of such a tool is, and some possible vendors.
I have a long list of user interface items I have to test to make sure they work visually, that the results LOOK good. Just before every release I want a very last minute check that nothing got broken at the last second. It takes too long for one person to go through all the tests on all the platforms.
I'd like to recruit an "army" of testers, who each take on a portion of the tests and report back pass or fail with notes on fail. We already have a defect tracking system. These are not things that can be automated. They require subjective judgement of the results. We want redundant coverage at least of the crucial areas.
It would be sort of like election night, where everyone sees the results pouring in from the field. Some tests might be repeated by several people. Everyone can see the up to the second coverage of what has been tested and where the problem areas are showing up.

Compuware QADirector does what you ask nicely. I'm sure other vendors do too, but I am most familiar with QADirector
