I've doing SQA for about 7 years mostly in the networking industry. Everything from embedded software to network management web applications.
At my current job I am the lead for a online game.
Prior to me starting at the company, it didn't have much for QA relying mainly on outside groups. I have had the chance to bring in my knowledge and background into the company. I am just wondering if there is anyone out there that is in the same or similar industry.
Re: Game Testing
I am not in the field of game testing right now but I have done this in the past and I do still test the freeware software that is out there (from such groups as LucasFan, AGDInteractive, and various forms of Interactive Fiction). I have become convinced that it is possible to really showcase many testing concepts via the use of game theory and general game design and game playing. To that end, a while back I had put up a Game Testing section to my Web site. I even wrote two very simple games to highlight the concepts using two popular engines (SCI Studio and Inform).
