My company does not use specialised tools for testing their website, (something which i'm hoping to change). To help me on my way it would be great to know what the best webtesting tools are out there, at the moment im looking at "webQA 2.5". Is this app any good? is there a top ten list anywhere? Is winrunner any good for testing websites?
Appreciate any answers folks
I think that whoever your talk to, your going to get different answers depending on which tool they have used the most. Personally, I would recommend that you get a trial version of a few different tools and look for one that meets your needs.
Im realtively new to this game (but loving it)so was trying to get a feel for whats the best tools out there, I've started to trawl through massive amounts of info here, and I'm starting to get a pretty good picture of the tools people use. Our company is going on to winrunner (probably end of year) I was just trying to source an alternative, more user friendly piece of software
Many thanks for posting
Check out Rational XDE Tester ( I think the name has changed ), especially if your back-end is Java. Not that the back-end really matters, but XDE Tester is java-based and its a nice benefit to have a homogenous dev/test environment. I've used Winrunner and Robot most in my career, but I liked XDE more. Probably for selfish reasons because the Java coding skills I learned while using it could be applied to development work.
