I searched through the forum for previous threads and i got couple of threads which are 2 years old.
Now the question is, what is the criteria to give estimates to the management. What factors do you take in to consideration when you give estimates.
If developers are asking 500 hours of coding time, how much time can a tester give. Is there any formula. I remember reading a discussion on this in Mercury Interactive discussions some time back. Some body suggested 1/3 of Development time will be taken for testing. Some body suggested that take, test cases, test steps for each case and take average some time and calculate.
Is there any standard estimating tools available in the market? Is it differs to the database tesing, webtesting.
How do you estimate testing hours in your company?
Any views welcome
