This is my first posting on this site, and I want to say how great it is to be a part of this large group of QA testers.
I have been a QA Analyst for alittle more then a year. Mainly testing my companies software programs doing Web IVR and back end processes.
My boss game me an assignment to test the companies printers on our novell network.
I have never tested hardware or periphrials before. Can someone please steer me in the right direction on testing printers weather it be test philosophy, methadology, links, test plans or general information on it.
Thank you all in advance, and I hope to help all of you as I get more advanced in this new field of mine.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">So what was it that your boss actually asked you to do?
For example, he/she could be asking you to turn each printer on and print a sample page.
She could be asking you to make sure that each printer prints rapidly enough.
She could be asking you to ensure that the printer is capable of printing the graphics that your software produces.
She could be asking you to make sure that your new Novell network supports your new printers correctly.
We'd need to know more about the assignment to provide real guidance, I suspect.
