can anybody let me know what exactly is manual testing and how is it performed ,could you please let me know from starting once they collect business and user requirements how they perform manual testing?

Testing is a process by which you increase the reliability and usefulness of a product/application.
Testing can be manual or automated.
By manual testing you repeat the sequence of events to achieve a desired output.
Sometimes due to the sheer repetitiveness of a process and the number of iterations of the same process , it is a good idea to automate the sequence of steps.
Usually testers need to participate in the requirement gathering phase and get a user expectation .This first hand knowledge is especially when one is doing the usability testing.
Once the business requirements are free zed, then the tester prepares the test plan , base lining it on the functional requirements .Once the test plan is in Plan , we move on to the test scripts .
The Plan is a skeleton and the Script is the substance on the Plan.
Once the 2 documents are in place , the steps explained in the scripts are executed , with adquate freedom to deviate from the script and engage in monkey testing.
This process goes on , reporting and tracking bugs along the way using any bug-tracking tools.
The process continues till either all bugs are closed or the time for testing is over
